Koala Pouch baby slings are made from two layers of beautiful preshrunk cotton fabric with a touch of spandex, allowing your sling to form to your shoulder and to baby providing the ultimate in comfort. Every sling is fully reversible, with one side being a classic solid, and the other a stylish print. The two layers also make Koala Pouch baby slings strong and durable. To care for your Koala Pouch, simply machine wash cold, and tumble dry low.
How to Wear Baby Slings Newborn Carry
The newborn carry is used from birth until your baby prefers to sit and look around. The sling is folded in half, placed smoothly on your shoulder (no bunches) and positioned with the seam in the centre of your body. The baby is then placed in between the two layers of fabric first with her bum in the seam, followed by her head which is oriented towards the side of the sling that is resting on your shoulder. After baby is in the sling, always ensure that the inner layer of fabric is up and baby is securely positioned inside both layers of the pouch. When in proper position you will have an unobstructed view of baby, and her head and neck will be in a relaxed, natural position. To breastfeed in this position, simply adjust baby so that you are tummy to tummy, and adjust sling as needed. Now you can breastfeed hands-free!
How to Wear Baby Slings Sitting Carry
The sitting position is used once your baby can hold his head up on his own. The sling is folded in half and placed smoothly on your shoulder (no bunches), and positioned with the seam in the centre of your body. The baby is then placed in the sling bum first, with legs crossed in front and tucked in. Baby can either be facing out, facing in, or side sitting. After baby is in the sling, always ensure that the inner layer of fabric is up and baby is securely positioned inside the pouch. Babies love that in this position they can look around and take the world in, while being secure next to mom or dad!
How to Wear Baby Slings Hip Hugger Carry
Once your baby can sit on her own, you can use the hip hugging position. Place the sling over your shoulder (not folded in half first), with the seam at your hip. Allow the extra fabric to bunch up against your neck, and smooth out the fabric which goes over your shoulder. Place your baby on your hip so that she is straddling your body, and then take the sling at the seam and bring it over your baby's head until the fabric reaches under her bum, extending to her knees. The fabric should go all the way to her shoulders to provide good support. The last step is to reach across your body and fold the extra fabric closest to your neck, down over your shoulder so that it is nice and smooth; this makes a nice snug fit for your baby.
With this carry you also have the option of sliding your baby to the front of your body once baby is in the sling securely; and the advanced baby wearer will slide their baby onto their back when very confident in both their own, and baby's abilities.

- Ensure baby's head is in a relaxed natural position
- Inspect seams and fabric regularly for damage and wear

- Use often and enjoy
Don't:

Koala Pouch Baby Slings sizing
Koala Pouch Baby Slings sizing is important to ensure a proper fit. Pouch style slings are bought to fit the wearer, not the baby. The same sling will work perfectly for your baby from birth until approximately 35 lbs.
Six sizes are available: XS, S, M, ML, L and XL, as well as custom sizes by special order.
A simple way to estimate your sling size is to order the same size that you would wear in a fitted t-shirt. You may need to go up or down a size depending on your bust size and height.
For Example:
Larger than C cup, up one size.
Shorter than 5?4?, down one size.
Taller than 5?10?, up one size.
Correct fit is achieved when the baby's bum sits slightly above your hip. This is important, as anything lower may start to put strain on your back. If you are unsure of which size to order, please contact us so that we can assist you in selecting the correct sling. If after receiving your Koala Pouch baby sling you feel that you purchased the wrong size, please contact us right away and we would be happy to exchange sizes with you if needed. Koala Pouch Baby Slings sizing is an important consideration for you and your baby's comfort.
